What is Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support? Skills session for American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS (advanced cardiovascular life support) certification blended learning course (online course plus in-person skills session). Includes early recognition and management of cardiac and respiratory arrest with advanced pharmaceutical and electrical interventions, peri-arrest, ACS, stroke, tachycardia, and bradycardia; as well as airway management; performing BLS; AED use; delivering medications; systems of care; assessments; effective communication; team dynamics; ongoing patient monitoring; and team feedback.
Prerequisite: Students must complete the online course BEFORE showing up for the in-person skills session, and provide proof of completion to the instructor. There is an option to purchase the online course when enrolling in this skills session.
Who should take this course? Healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies, and personnel in emergency response such as physicians, licensed nurses (RNs), paramedics, and respiratory therapists.
